The 2 12V fans just above the tubesBoth fans are getting power from the card in the middle but you should'nt need to unplug any of those

You'll need to remove the plastic chassis of the 1031 to be able to remove all screws (especially the 2 leftmost on this picture)

Now you can remove the pair fan+speaker that are mounted on the same metal plate

DSCF1901

Now, the metal plate is removed, showing up the tube below. Now, we can get to work

DSCF1903

My advice is to put something on the 1031 so that you can work on the metal plate without needing to unplug anything (and moreover, cutting the plastic things that stretch the wires together).

4 screws and the old fan is out.

The new PAPST 80mm 8412 NGL is just the same size as the older fan

DSCF1905

One of the new fan is in place. A "domino" is used to connect the new fan to the older power wires

DSCF1906

The 2 new fans are in place. Time to check noïse and temperature
